We are delighted to have won a grant application from the Towards Zero NT Govt funding to purchase pedal cars and bicycles for the reopening of our Road Safety Centre.
We have purchased 6 pedal cars and the Road Safety Centre will reopen in March 2020,
Our Perk the Park crowdfunding campaign a few years ago raised money for the purchase and/or construction of cars for our road safety centre.
We bought little pedal cars (on the left) that were immensley popular but not very tough, especially after vandals got in and damaged them. However we are working at bringing them back to operational capacity.
We are still working on the tougher models. The pedal cars are proving difficult as we need mechanically minded helpers and they have been in short supply. The plans are 1970s and some of the technology is not available.
The electric jeep sponsored by CarParts NT is currently under construction. The LandRover sponsored by DRV4LYF is in the wings.
